Recovery Activities at HAUS Recovery

If you think sober living is dull and boring, HAUS Recovery has a new adventure in store. We believe sobriety is the beginning of a fun, fulfilling, and lifelong adventure. When you leave the guilt and isolation of addiction behind, your world opens up to new experiences, fellowship, and empowerment. You approach each day with renewed energy and a fresh perspective—and we’d like to show you these joys of sober living.

Southern California is blessed with mild temperatures and abundant sunshine, making it a great place for outdoor recreation. The beach city of Santa Monica is at the heart of things—with beachside activities, mountain sports, an active arts community, entertainment, and thriving small businesses. Centrally located near this hub, HAUS Recovery is a structured, abstinence-based environment where you’ll feel safe and nurtured as you start to participate in life once again.

A fundamental part of the HAUS program is showing you how to eat nutritiously, enjoy people, and have fun. We have weekly cooking classes, and residents are encouraged to help with the HAUS vegetable garden. Several 12-step groups meet nearby, and clients are invited to visit and enjoy the support and fellowship of others living in sobriety.

Fun in Santa Monica

Sustained recovery should incorporate daily fun. HAUS has bikes, surfboards, and paddleboards for residents to use, and we organize group activities and outings every week. Physical activity helps you feel better and wards off stress--and it’s good for the soul. A sunset hike or early morning run along the beach provides you with time to reflect on your goals and accomplishments.
